About the event
Join Friends of Lumpkin County Shelter Animals for our Second Annual Run for the Rescues 5K on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 9–11 AM at Cottrell Elementary School in Dahlonega! Run or walk with us—and bring your leashed dog!—for a fun morning benefiting animals in need at the Lumpkin County Animal Shelter and supporting the new shelter. Participants can compete for age-group medals and fastest runner trophies, enter to win a gift basket in our raffle, and meet adoptable animals looking for their forever homes. Every step helps us continue supporting the shelter and the animals who need us most!
